Kuala lumpur: No areas recorded hazardous Air Pollutant Index (API) readings due to haze as of 9 am today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Malaysian Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) portal reported that eight areas in Sarawak recorded unhealthy readings, namely Sarikei (194), Serian district police headquarters (IPD) (183), Samarahan (180), Kuching (171), Samalaju (164), Sri Aman (157), Sibu (155), and Mukah (154).
Meanwhile, four areas in Johor also recorded unhealthy API readings. These areas include Larkin (140), Kluang (125), Batu Pahat (115), and Pasir Gudang (114).
In Kuala Lumpur, Batu Muda also registered an unhealthy API reading of 167.
Overall, 48 areas nationwide were reported to be at the moderate level, while seven areas recorded good air quality readings.
An API reading of zero to 50 indicates good air quality, 51 to 100 (moderate), 101 to 200 (unhealthy), 201 to 300 (very unhealthy), and 301 and above (hazardous).
