Haze Forces Postponement of End-of-Academic-Session Assessment

Accra:The End-of-Academic-Session Assessment (UASA), initially set for next week, has been postponed due to the haze affecting the country. The Ministry of Education (MOE) announced this decision today, citing health and safety concerns from parents and guardians as a primary factor influencing the postponement.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the UASA is a school-based assessment, allowing schools the flexibility to reschedule the assessment dates. The MOE assured that new dates would be communicated to parents and guardians in due course.

Acknowledging the challenges faced by families, the Ministry recognised the difficult balance parents and guardians must strike between safeguarding their children's health and ensuring they do not miss important assessments. The MOE reiterated its commitment to prioritising student health and safety while maintaining an orderly assessment process.
