Melaka:Despite the closure of all schools in Melaka due to deteriorating air quality from haze, the Pentaksiran Kemasukan Sekolah Khusus (PKSK) and Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) examinations will proceed as planned tomorrow.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Melaka State Education Department (JPN) has advised all examination candidates to check for updates and instructions on the department's official Facebook page concerning the exams.
The department will continue to monitor the situation, including Air Pollutant Index (API) levels, and will provide official updates if there are any changes to the operation of educational institutions. Stakeholders, including parents, guardians, candidates, and school administrators, are urged to consult the Melaka JPN's official channels for accurate information and to follow all requirements.
Ensuring the health and safety of students and educational staff remains a priority for the department, which aims to maintain smooth educational operations during this period of unhealthy weather.
Earlier, Education Minister Datuk Seri Fadhlina Sidek announced the closure of schools in several regions, including Johor, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, and Putrajaya, due to the haze. The closures also affect certain districts in Selangor and Pahang. Schools in other regions, including Kuala Lumpur, Labuan, and several states, will continue to operate as usual.
