HAWANA 2024 Campus Tour Concludes with Interactive Workshops and Dialogue

KUALA TERENGGANU: The National Journalists’ Day (HAWANA) 2024 Campus Tour for the Eastern Zone concludes today, drawing participation from over 250 students and lecturers from three universities. The event features a series of interactive workshops and a dialogue session, aimed at fostering engagement with the digital world.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil is set to officiate the programme, which includes participants from Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), and Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK). The event will also be attended by Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) Chief Executive Officer Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin, and Bernama Editor-in-Chief Arul Rajoo Durar Raj, who also serves as the HAWANA 2024 Project director, alongside UniSZA Vice-Chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Fadzli Adam.

As part of the final tour series for 2024, UniSZA, UMT, and UMK will each receive contributions comprising high-capacity computers and s
mart televisions. The programme will further be enhanced by a dialogue session between Fahmi and the students, fostering discussions on contemporary issues.

The event will also feature three interactive workshops tailored to today’s digital world. These include a Mobile Journalism session led by Bernama journalists, a Fact Check session presented by Bernama editors, and a ‘Click Wisely’ talk conducted by officers from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).

Initiated in conjunction with the HAWANA 2024 celebration, the ‘HAWANA 2024 Tour’ programme is a collaborative effort organized by the Ministry of Communications, with Bernama serving as the implementing agency.
