Hannah Places Team MAS Jersey In Tribute To Late Shing Xuen

Kuala lumpur: Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh paid tribute to the late Yap Shing Xuen by placing a Team MAS jersey at her resting place. Hannah described Shing Xuen as a teenager who loved volleyball and led an active lifestyle.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Hannah shared her sentiments on Instagram, stating that she conveyed to Shing Xuen’s mother, Wong Lee Ping, her desire for Shing Xuen to have the national jersey. Wong Lee Ping responded that Shing Xuen would have loved the gesture. Hannah expressed her condolences, thoughts, and prayers for the family, acknowledging Malaysia’s collective mourning for their loss.

The tragic incident occurred when sixteen-year-old Shing Xuen was killed after being stabbed, allegedly by a 14-year-old male schoolmate, at a secondary school in Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya. The incident took place on Tuesday, October 14.

Shing Xuen’s remains were cremated at the Nirvana Crematorium in Shah Alam, Selangor. The cremation followed three days of prayers and tribute ceremonies that concluded the previous night.
