Kota kinabalu: Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has retained the Sulaman seat for the ninth time in the 17th Sabah State Election.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) chairman polled 10,639 votes, securing a majority of 8,919 votes in a five-cornered contest. Hajiji faced competition from Dr Shahnon Rizal Thaijuddin of Barisan Nasional (BN), Mokhtar Hussin from Parti Warisan, Tiaminah Siti Aminah Ele of Perikatan Nasional, and Pajudin Nordin from Parti Impian Sabah.
In the previous 2020 state election, Hajiji achieved victory with a majority of 3,099 votes.
