Haj Pilgrimage: A Journey of Spiritual Education and Renewal, Says PM Anwar

Kuala lumpur: The Haj pilgrimage is not merely a spiritual journey; rather, it is a school of education and spiritual upbringing that shapes the soul, purifies the heart, and breathes new spirit into returning to serve religion, the people, and the nation with greater sincerity and compassion. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim emphasized the transformative nature of this sacred journey, highlighting its role in inspiring freedom and courage.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Prime Minister Anwar noted that history illustrates how the spirit of freedom and courage among Muslims often flourishes after pilgrims return from Makkah. This phenomenon is evident in historical accounts, such as the uprising of the people of Aceh against Dutch colonialism. The Prime Minister shared these insights with Haj pilgrims from Permatang Pauh and Tambun, who are preparing for their spiritual journey.

During the gathering, Anwar also recounted the story of Malcolm X, who returned from the Holy Land with a broader perspective on life, a peaceful demeanor, and a deeper understanding of human brotherhood. He expressed his prayers for all pilgrims, hoping they would be granted an accepted Haj (haji mabrur), experience ease in their endeavors, and return home with a renewed spirit to positively impact their families, society, and Malaysia.
