Gum-Gum PH Candidate Vows To Address Water, Road And Electricity Issues

Kota kinabalu: Water supply, roads, and electricity will be the main focus of PKR candidate Abdul Said Pimping in his bid for the Gum-Gum state seat in the upcoming 17th Sabah State Election. Abdul Said, 53, said that as a candidate representing Pakatan Harapan (PH), the ruling coalition at the federal level, he intends to leverage his strong ties with the federal government to address these issues in a comprehensive manner.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Abdul Said affirmed his commitment to continue fighting for solutions to water, road, and electricity issues if given the mandate by the people. He plans to formulate both short- and long-term strategies to resolve these persistent issues promptly. During his campaign in Pulau Libaran, Abdul Said emphasized the need for clean and reliable water supply for residents who currently rely on wells mixed with saltwater, making cooking difficult.

Abdul Said expressed his intent to improve basic infrastructure, including water supply, for the island’s residents. He assured the community that their interests would be protected and longstanding issues addressed. As the PKR Libaran branch chief, Abdul Said is committed to continuing beneficial development projects in the Gum-Gum constituency, regardless of political differences with previous governments.

He stressed that elected representatives should not halt or cancel projects simply due to political disagreements. Abdul Said pledged to review projects at the departmental or agency level to ensure uninterrupted development in Gum-Gum. He highlighted that most residents are farmers, smallholders, and fishermen who rely on government assistance, assuring that aid will continue to be channeled to them.

The Election Commission has set early voting for the state polls on Nov 25, with polling day scheduled for Nov 29.
