Kuala lumpur: The successful release of 23 Malaysians involved in the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) mission, who had been detained by the Zionist regime since Thursday, has highlighted Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s diplomatic approach, according to Perlis Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) chief Azzin Izzad Bahanudin.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, this achievement has elevated Malaysia’s international standing as a nation that consistently defends human rights and upholds universal humanitarian principles. Azzin Izzad Bahanudin expressed the highest appreciation and congratulations to the Prime Minister for securing the release of the Malaysians held by the Zionist regime.
Perlis AMK voiced its firm support for the Prime Minister’s leadership in his efforts to champion justice, peace, and sovereignty for both Malaysians and the international community. Azzin Izzad noted that the diplomatic breakthrough brought relief to the families involved and reinforced public confidence in Malaysia’s leadership in facing global challenges.
Perlis AMK also condemned the Zionist regime’s actions of detaining Malaysians without legal grounds, emphasizing that such actions violated international law. The 23 Malaysian activists arrived safely at Istanbul International Airport after departing on a special Turkish government aircraft from Ramon Airport, Israel.
The activists were detained by Israeli forces after their GSF vessels were intercepted in the Red Zone waters of the Mediterranean Sea and taken to Ashdod Port, Israel. Among those detained were singer Heliza Helmi and her sister, Nur Hazwani Afiqah, along with other notable figures such as singer Zizi Kirana and influencer Nurul Hidayah Mohd Amin.
The GSF mission included over 500 activists from 45 countries, sailing towards Gaza to break the Israeli blockade and deliver humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.
