Kuala Lumpur: Great Eastern Takaful Berhad reinforces its commitment to helping those in need and giving back to the community through GET-Care, one of its corporate social responsibility pillars, during the holy month of Ramadan.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, this year, the company organised two initiatives, namely the GET-Sahur Programme 2025 and the GREAT Ramadan Programme 2025, to honour frontliners and assist underprivileged children. Great Eastern Takaful Berhad chief executive officer Shahrul Azlan Shahriman stated that the company is committed to making a difference in the lives of those in need.
Through the GET-Sahur Programme 2025, Great Eastern Takaful extended its gratitude to Malaysia’s frontline heroes by distributing 100 packed sahur meals to five designated locations, including Hospital Kuala Lumpur and Institut Jantung Negara. Great Eastern Takaful employee volunteers participated to uplift and acknowledge the frontliners’ dedication.
Great Eastern Takaful Berhad Marketing head Rashida Mior Ahmad Darwish mentioned that GET-Sahur is a gesture to express gratitude to those serving the nation. The initiative reflects the company’s commitment to giving back to the community and ensuring frontliners feel valued.
According to the statement, the GREAT Ramadan Programme also saw nearly 90 orphans and asnaf from Pusat Jagaan Kasih Murni and Rumah Kasih Nurul Hasanah enjoy a special Hari Raya shopping experience at Mydin Wholesale Hypermarket. Accompanied by employee volunteers, the children picked out their Raya outfits and essentials, ensuring joyful celebrations.
Additionally, Great Eastern Takaful hosted a Grand Iftar at Temu Jelatek, bringing together orphans and young cancer patients from Kumpulan Ibu Bapa dan Sokongan Anak-Anak Kanser (KIDS) in a warm gathering. The evening fostered unity and hope, reinforcing the importance of compassion and support for those facing life challenges.
