Kuala lumpur: The MADANI government remains committed to prioritising the welfare of Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) officers, personnel, and their families, stated Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. He highlighted that housing matters, which directly impact the well-being of personnel's families, are included in this commitment.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the issue was underscored during a meeting with the senior management of the Ministry of Defence and MAF leadership at Wisma Perwira. The Prime Minister was also briefed on several strategic decisions concerning the nation's sovereignty and security.
Anwar noted that these discussions are crucial to ensuring that the readiness and capabilities of the MAF are strengthened in the face of increasingly complex geo-strategic challenges and threats. He emphasised that MAF continues to serve as the nation's primary defence bastion and a symbol of sovereignty that must be maintained.
The meeting, which lasted about an hour, was also attended by Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, and Chief of Defence Forces Gen Datuk Malek Razak Sulaiman. Following the meeting, Anwar attended a religious lecture and performed the zuhur prayer at the Khalid bin Al-Walid Mosque.
