Dengkil: Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar today disclosed that construction of a Type 3 Klinik Kesihatan with quarters in Timah Langat, Dengkil, has reached only 56 per cent progress since work began in 2023.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the government would not compromise on the failure of people-centred projects, and that the contractor and site supervisor had been given stern warnings to keep the project on track. "Those involved must continue to monitor the project's progress and must reach the finish line. Do not fail again," he said in a Facebook post after making a surprise visit to the site today.

Meanwhile, in a separate post, the Works Ministry (KKR) said its secretary-general, Datuk Seri Azman Ibrahim, had visited the project yesterday to assess progress, identify critical issues and ensure corrective action is expedited. Azman said that every delay not only affects the project's schedule and cost, but also imposes a social cost on the people awaiting better health facilities.

He emphasised that all parties involved must strengthen their sense of urgency, responsibility and accountability to ensure every issue is followed up with action until it is resolved. "The priority is to ensure the project is completed on time, meets specifications and quality standards, and delivers value for money, so that people can benefit from this facility as soon as possible," he said.

The project had previously been classified as behind schedule, or a "sick project," based on its status in the MyProjek system. Among the issues reported at the site were the contractor's delay in appointing an Industrialised Building System supplier and in commencing sub-structure works for the quarters and clinic buildings.
