BUKIT MERTAJAM: The federal government has allocated RM2 million to the Ministry of Human Resources (Kesuma) for Kampung Baru Alma, said Human Resources (Kesuma) Minister Steven Sim Chee Keong. He stated that this funding is part of the Madani Adopted Village initiative introduced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Kesuma ministry has been entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing Kampung Baru Alma. This year’s allocation of approximately RM2 million has been partially utilized for infrastructure improvements. These improvements include the enhancement of roads and drainage systems, the construction of a main gateway, and the installation of air conditioning units in the mosque and surau.

The minister further elaborated that the remaining funds are being directed towards drainage improvement projects and beautification efforts in three nearby villages in Bukit Mertajam. In addition, Sim announced that Wira Kesuma volunteers are on standby to provide human
itarian assistance in flood-affected regions, especially on the East Coast.

He highlighted that there are around 10,000 volunteers across the nation who have received safety training from the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health. This training ensures that the volunteers are adequately prepared to handle emergency situations effectively.
