Subang: The government is set to announce a groundbreaking recovery plan for the victims of the gas pipeline explosion in Putra Heights, Subang, according to Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming. This announcement promises to be a historic move in the country’s efforts to support those affected by such disasters.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the announcement will be made jointly with Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari this week. Minister Nga Kor Ming highlighted the significance of the plan, describing it as “the best and unprecedented recovery plan for fire victims in our country’s history” during a press event following the groundbreaking ceremony for the MADANI Youth Housing and Affordable Homes project in Mukim Batu.
The event was attended by notable figures including Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa, Datuk Seri Dr Maimunah Mohd Sharif, and Chief of Defence Force Gen Datuk Mohd Nizam Jaffar. This underscores the importance of the initiative and the high-level support it is receiving.
Minister Nga also reiterated the MADANI government’s commitment to delivering 500,000 affordable housing units by the end of this year, a target that appears within reach as 95 percent, or 468,000 units, have already been completed or approved. He expressed confidence in achieving this goal and emphasized the cooperative effort required to meet it.
In his speech, Minister Nga announced that the Prime Minister would soon launch the country’s largest affordable housing project in Penang, which will include 38,000 units. Additionally, 13,000 units will be offered at the launch of Bandar MADANI Malaysia. This initiative aligns with the MADANI concept, which prioritizes compassion and people-centric projects to provide hope to the citizens.
