Government Sets Target for Corporate and GLC Adoption of 500 Schools

Kuala Lumpur: The government has announced a target to have 500 schools adopted by corporate and government-linked companies (GLCs). This initiative was highlighted by MADANI Government spokesperson Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, who stated that the goal was established by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim during a Cabinet meeting.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Ministry of Education (MOE) will coordinate the mechanism for this initiative. Companies interested in adopting schools are encouraged to reach out to the MOE for more information. This strategy aims to enhance the collaboration between the private sector and educational institutions.

Fahmi also revealed that Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) has already committed to adopting 20 schools, marking an early success in the government’s plan. This move is part of a broader effort to involve more corporate and GLC entities in supporting the educational sector.
