Government Proactively Tackles Global Supply Crisis, Says Anwar

Kuala lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim affirmed today that the government will not remain passive in addressing the complex global supply crisis. In a statement posted on his official X account, Anwar highlighted that all government actions are strategically designed to safeguard the interests of the populace and to ensure Malaysia's readiness and resilience against potential energy supply disruptions.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Prime Minister emphasized the proactive measures taken by the MADANI Government amid escalating geopolitical tensions in West Asia. He noted that these measures include reinforcing cooperation with reliable partners like Oman, with the primary goal of safeguarding national interests.

Anwar hosted Sh Abdulla Suleiman Hamed Al Harthy, chairman of National Gas Company SAOG Oman, for a courtesy visit aimed at enhancing strategic partnerships and exploring investment opportunities to stabilize Malaysia's energy supply.

Anwar articulated that expanding trade in oil and liquefied natural gas is a strategic necessity for maintaining the stability of the nation's energy supply chain, thereby preventing cost pressures that could adversely affect citizens and businesses.
