Government Initiatives Under Budget 2027 Praised for Supporting Women’s Empowerment

Accra:The government's efforts to enhance women's empowerment through Budget 2027 have been commended as a promising beginning, according to the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, MIDA chairman Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz emphasized that the initiatives include a RM200 million allocation to provide equipment and training to 40,000 recipients, mainly women. Additionally, there are plans to expand childcare facilities.

Tengku Zafrul noted that while the government's measures are significant, employers must also contribute by offering promotion opportunities, fair wages, and flexible working arrangements. He stated that these are not just employee benefits but also investments in the country's economic future. Highlighting the potential of women, he stressed the importance of creating more opportunities and sharing responsibilities to ensure national progress. He shared these thoughts in a post on X during his attendance at the Women Economic Forum and G100 Global Meet 2026.
