Government Initiates Technical Working Group for Price Stabilisation in Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan

Kuala lumpur: The government is implementing measures to ensure price stability and a steady supply of essential goods in Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan by establishing a Technical Working Group (TWG) on Price Stabilisation. Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof announced this initiative in a Facebook post, following the inaugural Price Stabilisation in Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan Committee Meeting for 2026, which he chaired.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the meeting addressed several key matters aimed at achieving these objectives, thereby enhancing the quality of life for residents in these regions. Attendees included Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi; Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Datuk Amrizan Mohd Ali; Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Sabah and Sarawak) Datuk Mustapha Sakmud; Sabah Minister of Women, Health and Community Wellbeing Datuk Julita Mojungki; and Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Lo Su Fui.

The committee's previous discussions resulted in the decision to establish the TWG on Price Stabilisation. The primary goal is to improve coordination between the Federal Government and state governments, addressing issues related to price stability and supply of essential goods.

This initiative is part of the government's broader strategy to ensure that the populations of Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan have access to necessary commodities at consistent prices.
