Kuala Lumpur: The government is drafting a national strategy to address potential economic challenges, including the creation of the National Geoeconomic Command Centre (NGCC), as announced by Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz. This initiative is designed to monitor tariffs, sanctions, and supply chain risks while coordinating responses across various ministries and sectors.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Tengku Zafrul emphasized the importance of developing smart solutions and building credibility as a neutral key trading partner for major powers. He conveyed this message through a post on the social media platform X, highlighting the government’s focus on strengthening economic resilience.
A meeting chaired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim underscored the government’s commitment to fortifying the country’s economic stability. Anwar, in a separate social media post, stressed the need for Malaysia to accelerate the exploration and application of artificial intelligence (AI). He advocated for encouraging innovation and adopting comprehensive cross-ministry and agency strategies to harness AI technology and digital assets, which hold the potential to drive sustainable economic growth.
