Government Ensures Equal Support for All States, Says Minister

Johor bahru: The government does not discriminate against any state in allocating funds, including those for agriculture and food security, Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu said. He emphasized that assistance to all states, including those administered by the opposition, would continue under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for the benefit of the people.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohamad Sabu highlighted the government's stance during his address at the Pakatan Harapan Convention 2026 at the Persada Johor International Convention Centre. He stated that the current leadership does not practice favoritism and upholds the Constitution and democratic principles. He urged patience and adherence to the electoral process for any changes in leadership, emphasizing the importance of waiting until the general election.

Mohamad Sabu also expressed his commitment to seeking additional allocations from the Finance Ministry for 2026 to further strengthen Johor's agriculture sector. He noted that approximately RM201 million had been allocated for agriculture in Johor under the 13th Malaysia Plan, with intentions to not only maintain but also increase this allocation.

The minister reiterated the government's non-partisan approach to agriculture and food security, stating, "We do not look at political colours. We support any state that is committed." He also urged the public to continue supporting the Unity Government for another term, describing its formation as a result of a long process of political cooperation.
