Gombak Integrated Terminal Start Receiving Passengers From The East Coast

Gombak: The Gombak Integrated Terminal (TBG) located on the Middle Ring Road 2 near the Gombak Toll Plaza has commenced receiving passengers from the East Coast, even though its official operations are slated to begin on March 22.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, a survey revealed a quiet scene at the terminal with a few buses dropping off passengers before heading towards Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS). Datuk Seri Mohd Nadzlim Mohd Noor, Founder and CEO of Terminal Bersepadu Gombak Sdn Bhd (TEGAS), mentioned that only 18 buses were scheduled to stop at the terminal today, as it is still in its trial phase. He noted the first bus from Kelantan is expected at 5.30 am the next day and that food and beverage operators have been informed to open for passengers wishing to have sahur.

Although the terminal’s official operations are yet to commence, the public can already purchase tickets for travel during Hari Raya Aidilfitri on all routes. R. Deepan, a private-sector employee from Kuantan, Pahang, expressed that his travel to Kuala Lumpur is now more convenient, as his workplace is near TBG, eliminating the need to stop at TBS.

Similarly, Muhamad Amirul Malik, a university student in Bangsar, highlighted the reduction in travel time to the city, as his bus now takes a more direct route, bypassing heavy traffic and the need to transfer from TBS.

Housewife Nur Amira Syahirah Muslim expressed her excitement about the terminal’s opening due to the convenience it offers East Coast residents traveling for work or study. She appreciated the terminal’s facilities, including food outlets, ample parking, and a surau.

TBG serves as a significant transportation hub, linking Pahang, Terengganu, and Kelantan with other destinations, including the northern region of Malaysia. It integrates express buses, intercity buses, the Gombak LRT station, and the future East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) Gombak station, which is 79 percent complete. The terminal provides 1,200 parking spaces and is expected to create 3,000 job opportunities essential for its operations.
