Gold Futures Fall on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Following US COMEX Trends

Kuala lumpur: Gold futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended lower today, influenced by the performance of gold futures on the US Commodity Exchange (COMEX).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the spot-month August 2026 contract closed at US$4,618.0 per troy ounce, down from Monday's US$4,638.50 per troy ounce. The September 2026 contract also saw a decrease, ending at US$4,635.50 per troy ounce compared to US$4,654.70 per troy ounce previously.

The October and November 2026 contracts both recorded declines, closing at US$4,651.90 per troy ounce, down from US$4,671.70 per troy ounce. Similarly, the December 2026 and February 2027 contracts decreased to US$4,659.70 per troy ounce, a drop from US$4,679.50 per troy ounce.

Trading activity saw a reduction, with volume falling to 354 lots from 392 lots on Monday. Open interest also weakened, declining to 425 contracts from 457 contracts previously.

In the physical market, gold was fixed at US$4,615.45 per troy ounce at the London Bullion Market Association's afternoon fix on August 25, 2026.
