Gold Futures End Lower, Tracking US COMEX

Kuala lumpur: Gold futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended lower today, tracking the weaker performance of gold futures on the US Commodity Exchange (COMEX). At the close, the spot-month August 2026 contract eased to US$4,595.90 per troy ounce from Wednesday's US$4,618.0, and the September 2026 contract slipped to US$4,613.20 from US$4,635.50.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the October and November 2026 contracts both dropped to US$4,629.40 per troy ounce from US$4,651.90, while the December 2026 and February 2027 contracts retreated to US$4,637.20 from US$4,659.70. Trading volume jumped to 620 lots from 354 lots on Wednesday, while open interest advanced to 688 contracts from 425 contracts previously.

Physical gold was fixed at US$4,631.50 per troy ounce at the London Bullion Market Association's afternoon fix on Aug 26, 2026.
