PASIR MAS: The Royal Malaysian Police’s General Operations Force (GOF) intercepted a significant smuggling operation, confiscating Thai cosmetics valued at approximately RM102,800. The raid targeted an illegal storage facility in Syed Mior, Pasir Mas, and took place yesterday.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the operation was led by the GOF Southeast Brigade under the command of Datuk Nik Ros Azhan Nik Ab Hamid. A team from the PGA 7th Battalion conducted the raid at 10:30 am while patrolling the area. The inspection of the storage facility uncovered numerous boxes of cosmetics lacking proper documentation, indicating their smuggled status for local market distribution.
The ongoing investigation is being carried out under Section 7(1)(a) of the Control of Drugs and Cosmetics Regulations 1984. The seized products have been transported to Komtak Jeram Perdah for further examination and action. Datuk Nik Ros Azhan emphasized the GOF’s commitment to preventing smuggling activities across national borders and promised stringent measures against offenders.
