Global Supply Crisis: Protecting People, Supplies And Industry Is Government’s Priority

Kuala lumpur: The MADANI Government's priority in addressing the current global supply crisis is to protect the people, maintain supplies and basic necessities, support industries, and ensure that the nation's growth momentum is not severely affected. Economy Minister Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir said Malaysia is managing a prolonged and evolving crisis requiring policy adjustments, cost management, assurance of basic needs and sustained economic momentum, with all government decisions and actions reflecting a swift, focused and data-driven approach.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Economy Minister Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir expressed confidence that Malaysia can navigate this period of uncertainty with structured and coordinated efforts among ministries, industry cooperation, and disciplined implementation. During a special briefing on the global supply crisis, which was televised live, he emphasized the importance of prudent adjustments by all parties to support the government's efforts to stretch available supplies.

He highlighted the government's initiatives, including campaigns promoting prudent spending, energy and electricity conservation, and efficient travel planning to reduce fuel usage and daily costs. These approaches aim to ensure that adjustments occur in a structured and controlled manner, safeguarding the continuity of all critical industries as part of the nation's economic survival strategy.

Nasrullah underscored that the crisis serves as a reminder that energy should be viewed not just as a pricing issue, but as a matter of economic resilience and supply security. The country's ability to adapt to external shocks through medium- and long-term measures is crucial for maintaining economic stability.
