Harbin: International media representatives and online influencers from 22 countries are visiting Harbin from July 20 to 23 as part of the 2026 International Mainstream Media Tour, showcasing the city's innovation, cultural heritage and summer tourism appeal.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the event is organized under the "Discover China in the New Era" campaign, initiated by Xinhua News and Information Center. The tour brings together media participants from countries including the United States, Canada, the Republic of Korea, Trkiye, Argentina, Brazil, and Colombia.
The program highlights Harbin's transformation as a city combining industrial innovation, cultural heritage, and tourism development. Participants are exploring the city's historical landmarks, cultural attractions, and technology-driven industries to gain insights into its development.
During the tour, international visitors experienced Harbin's Central Avenue, attended the "Charming Summer in Harbin" citizen music carnival, and visited the Dream Ice and Snow Museum, according to a statement. They also toured high-tech enterprises and the Harbin Institute of Technology Aerospace Museum to learn about the city's advances in scientific and technological innovation.
Known as China's northernmost provincial capital, Harbin is recognized as a historical and cultural city, a UNESCO City of Music, an international wetland city, and a major destination for ice and snow tourism.
