Global Conflicts Remind Malaysians Not To Take Peace For Granted

Kuala lumpur: The current global conflicts serve as a reminder that the peace and stability enjoyed in Malaysia are precious blessings that should not be taken for granted. Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming emphasized the importance of preserving the spirit of unity, mutual respect, and harmonious living during a recent event.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Nga highlighted the contrast between the peaceful atmosphere of Ramadan in Malaysia and the conflicts faced by communities in other parts of the world. He remarked that the month of Ramadan offers a chance to cultivate gratitude for the peace and harmony prevalent in the country. Nga made these comments during the "Sentuhan Kasih Ramadan" Programme with the Housing and Local Government Minister.

The Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) is actively implementing the Urban Community Economic Empowerment Programme (PEKB) across the nation. This initiative, in collaboration with strategic partners, aims to help the urban poor generate sustainable income through entrepreneurship and skills training. Nga shared the success story of a single mother who increased her monthly income from RM500 to RM4,000 by participating in the PEKB programme, learning to bake cakes, and promoting her products on social media. He noted that such stories align with the aspirations of Malaysia MADANI and reflect KPKT's commitment to supporting fellow citizens.

During the event, Nga and the ministry's top management presented Aidilfitri contributions, including cash and aid baskets, to 108 KPKT staff in need. This initiative, led by the KPKT Welfare and Sports Body (KESKEP) and the National Association of Wives of Civil Servants and Women Civil Servants (PUSPANITA), aims to ease the burden of staff preparing for Aidilfitri. The event also featured a Quran tadabbur and recitation session, along with prize presentations for the KPKT Ramadan Decoration 1447H, recognizing ministry staff who contributed to enlivening the office environment throughout the holy month.
