GIVE SOME TIME TO IMPORT PLAYERS TO ADAPT – PERAK HEAD COACH

IPOH, Supporters of the Perak football squad have been urged to give import players some time to adapt in order to see the resurgence of the eight-time Malaysia Cup champions. Perak head coach Yusri Che Lah said that was why pre-season games were important for the preparation ahead of the new Malaysia Super League season, which was less than three weeks away. "Like the new player we have brought in, Clayton Da Silveria Da Silva, he needs a little time to get the rhythm, all players are like that when they join a new team," he said in a press conference here today. Yusri said this after Perak FC's pre-season friendly against Kedah Darul Aman (KDA) FC at the Perak Stadium which ended with the home team narrowly winning 1-0 over the Sang Kenari squad. The hosts defeated Nafuzi Zain's squad thanks to Luciano Guaycochea's penalty goal in the 58th minute. Yusri, who hails from Perlis, also dismissed claims from some fans who seemed uneasy about having Clayton, a former player of Hercilio Luz, a Division 4 clu b in Brazil. "The league in Brazil is more competitive and a little bit different because there are many leagues or divisions that are very difficult to explain but the level is different. "Clayton made his last appearance with the club in Brazil on March 18, 2024, in the quarter-finals before coming to Perak, and I hope he will adapt quickly for us to strengthen the team. "I take this matter seriously; we will try to solidify the player lineup, and I expect him (Clayton) to be able to play in the first match of the 2024/2025 Super League season against Terengganu at the Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium in Kuala Terengganu," he said.
