Gaza Ceasefire: All Parties Should Seize Opportunity To Help Palestinians – Mujahid

Kuala Lumpur: All parties should take advantage of the ceasefire in Gaza by preparing to deliver humanitarian aid to Palestine, said AMANAH deputy president Datuk Seri Dr Mujahid Yusof Rawa. He stated that following the Israel-Hamas ceasefire, Malaysian NGOs are ready to mobilize as soon as access for humanitarian aid is granted.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mujahid emphasized that the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas marks an early victory for the Palestinian struggle. He described it as a response to the bravery of Palestinians in defending their homeland. Mujahid expressed hope that complete liberation and independence for Palestine, along with the Al-Aqsa Mosque, would restore peace globally.

Mujahid, who is also a Senator, praised Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for his international advocacy for Palestine. Anwar has raised the issue at the United Nations and has called for Israel’s removal from the UN due to war crimes in Gaza. He has also underlined Malaysia’s commitment to rebuilding Palestine and demanded humanitarian aid access for war victims.

On Saturday, the Israeli Cabinet approved a ceasefire agreement with Hamas, which includes the release of Israeli hostages held in Gaza. The announcement came from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office, with the ceasefire set to begin on Sunday.

Since October 2023, nearly 45,000 Palestinians, mostly civilians and children, have been killed in Gaza. The events have seen the destruction of public hospitals and UNRWA refugee centers, with many journalists also losing their lives. These recent events are seen as part of a continuous series of actions against Palestinians since the Nakba in 1948, which refers to the mass displacement during the Arab-Israeli war.
