Gawai Kitai Ngiling Bidai 2025 Expected To Draw About 10,000 Visitors In Shah Alam

Shah Alam: About 10,000 visitors are expected to enliven the Gawai Kitai Ngiling Bidai 2025 or Hari Gawai 2025 celebration to be held on June 28 at D’Network@ Setia Alam Lake here. The chairman of the programme’s organising committee, Michael Oridecth Dures, highlighted that the Sarawak cultural celebration aims to introduce the uniqueness of the Dayak, Bidayuh, Iban, Ulu, and other ethnic groups.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the programme, set to be held for the first time in the Peninsula, is a collaboration between MOD Solutions Enterprise and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC). Michael Oridecth Dures extended an invitation to the public to participate in the Gawai Kitai Ngiling Bidai celebration, emphasizing the importance of celebrating the diverse cultures of Sarawak, which are considered pillars of the nation’s strength.

Michael further stated that the Hari Gawai celebration serves as a platform to introduce the uniqueness of Sarawak to both the local community and tourists, aligning with the Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) initiative. Additionally, he mentioned that this programme is part of his team’s efforts to support the Visit Selangor Year 2025, organized by the Selangor government.

Among the activities planned are a cultural workshop, traditional Sarawak music performances including sapa, and the sale of various ethnic foods sourced from the Land of the Hornbills. Michael extended a warm invitation to everyone to experience the uniqueness, friendliness, and hospitality of the people of Sarawak, promising valuable experiences for all attendees.
