Subang Jaya: The gas pipeline fire at Jalan Putra Harmoni, Putra Heights, Subang Jaya, Selangor, was fully extinguished at 3.45pm today, as confirmed by Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, in a Facebook post, Amirudin reported that 305 victims had been rescued and relocated as of 5pm. The evacuees are currently being accommodated at the Temporary Evacuation Centre (PPS) and several medical facilities, including Subang Jaya Hospital Medical Centre, Sunway Medical Centre, Serdang Hospital, and Putrajaya Hospital.
Amirudin emphasized that the safety of residents is the top priority. Two residential areas within a 290-metre radius have been declared prohibited zones and will remain closed until deemed safe for residents to return.
The Selangor State Government is collaborating closely with the Federal Government to address the situation and ensure the well-being of the affected residents. Amirudin visited the site at 4.20pm, where he met with Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Ayob Khan and Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department director-general Datuk Nor Hisham Mohammad.
As of 3.40pm, the fire incident resulted in damage to 190 housing units, 148 cars, and 11 motorcycles. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
