Kuala Lumpur: The National Registration Department (JPN) Mekar bus team has replaced 27 identity cards and 86 birth certificates of victims affected by the gas pipeline blaze in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya, Selangor from 9 am till this evening. Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the identification document replacement is being carried out at the Putra Heights Mosque temporary relief centre, which has been housing victims of the incident that occurred on Tuesday (April 1).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the identification document replacement operation at the centre will be extended till Sunday (April 6). “I was also informed that the Mekar bus will continue operating tomorrow from 9 am. As for the weekend, the JPN will provide a Mekar van for the same purpose,” he posted on Facebook today.

Saifuddin Nasution mentioned that residents who were away in their hometowns during the incident can still obtain the identification document replacements through the Mekar initiative until the end of this week. “Congratulations to the JPN Mekar team that carried out this operation, and I hope the victims at the relief centre will take advantage of this initiative,” he said.
