Gas Pipeline Blaze: Fire Dept Evacuating Nearby Residents

Subang Jaya: The Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) is evacuating residents living near the blaze caused by a burst gas pipeline at Jalan Putra Harmoni Putra Height, Selangor. Selangor JBPM operations assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar stated that the fire involves a gas pipeline leak with an estimated length of 500 metres, occurring near a public housing area.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar mentioned that they are presently unable to determine the number of victims involved. In his statement today, he confirmed the deployment of 41 firefighters from nine fire stations, including Subang Jaya, Puchong, Shah Alam, Bukit Jelutong, Cyberjaya, Rawang, Klang Selatan, Klang Utara, and Damansara, to manage the situation.

Earlier reports indicated that a distress call was received at 8.23 am, and firefighting operations are actively underway. A TikTok user with the account Perodua PuchongJayaJeffry reported hearing a loud explosion before witnessing the flames, noting that the fire was still ongoing as of 10 am.

Additionally, police have closed the roads leading to the scene to ensure public safety and facilitate the emergency response efforts.
