Gang Robbery Involving Businessman Not Related To Ex-CM’s Court Case

Petaling jaya: Police have confirmed that the injuries sustained by a businessman were the result of a robbery at a house in Jalan Bukit Gasing in Petaling Jaya and were not related to the court case involving a former chief minister.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Petaling Jaya district police chief ACP Shahrulnizam Ja’afar stated that the incident was reported to have occurred around 7.20 am. During this time, a group of masked robbers, armed with parangs, broke into the businessman’s house, making off with valuables stored in a safe.

“The suspects caused injuries to the victim’s hands and mouth before fleeing through the forest area behind the house. An investigation paper has been opened under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code for committing gang robbery using a weapon,” he said in a statement today.

Shahrulnizam further clarified that initial investigations revealed the incident was purely a robbery and had no connection to any ongoing court cases involving a former chief minister, countering circulating social media rumors.

He urged the public with any information related to the suspects to come forward to the nearest police station or contact the Petaling Jaya district police headquarters’ Operations Room at 03-79662222 or Investigating Officer ASP Fandhi Fatullah Abu Bakar at 014-6303090 to assist in the investigation.

Previously, BERNAMA reported that a key witness in the case of a former chief minister was believed to have been attacked at his residence in Petaling Jaya this morning.
