Full Probe Into Rafizi’s Son’s Assault, Public Urged Not To Speculate

Kuala lumpur: Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said police are conducting a thorough investigation into the incident involving the son of former Economy Minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli yesterday.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the investigation covers all possibilities, and Fahmi reminded the public not to speculate until official information is released. He emphasized his belief that the police will confirm what truly happened, urging patience as the investigation unfolds. Fahmi expressed confidence in Rafizi’s resilience, noting that Rafizi has previously faced court cases and is accustomed to pressure, suggesting that he would not be easily intimidated by the incident.

Fahmi addressed speculation regarding potential political motives behind the incident, which occurred at a shopping mall in Putrajaya. He mentioned that Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail had informed the PKR leadership and the Cabinet about follow-up measures, including enhanced security arrangements.

He also provided an update on the condition of Rafizi’s son, mentioning that while there was information as of yesterday, he had not received any further details that morning. The Home Minister has assured improved safety for Rafizi and his family, according to Fahmi.

Fahmi strongly condemned the attack and expressed hope that the perpetrators would be swiftly apprehended and brought to justice. Selangor police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar reported that the incident took place around 2 pm at a passenger pick-up/drop-off area while the victim was with his mother and driver.
