Penang: Three heritage sites in Penang will offer free entry for two days starting tomorrow in conjunction with the fifth anniversary of Penang Hill's recognition as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and Malaysia Day.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, State Tourism and Creative Economy Committee chairman Wong Hon Wai announced that the Penang State Automotive Gallery, Fort Cornwallis, and the Penang State Museum are the three sites that will open their doors to the public without charge. This initiative aims to encourage both locals and international tourists to explore and appreciate Penang's historical and cultural offerings.

In his statement, Wong Hon Wai highlighted the opportunity for visitors to delve into the history of the state, understand its heritage, and gain insight into Malaysia's rich cultural tapestry. This initiative not only celebrates the dual landmark occasions but also seeks to engage the community and tourists in a meaningful exploration of the region's past.

Additionally, Wong mentioned that the free admission to the Automotive Gallery and Fort Cornwallis will continue until October, providing an extended period for the public to visit and enjoy these sites. This extension is a part of the state's efforts to promote cultural heritage and tourism.
