Four Ramadan Bazaars to Operate in Putrajaya This Year

Putrajaya: Four Ramadan bazaars will be opened in Putrajaya throughout the fasting month this year for the convenience of local residents. Putrajaya Corporation (PPj) president Datuk Fadlun Mak Ujud announced that apart from the usual Ramadan bazaars at Precincts 3, 11, and 14, a smaller-scale bazaar will be set up at the Agricultural Heritage Park in Precinct 16.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, nearly 800 lots will be made available for sellers at the bazaars this year. Datuk Fadlun Mak Ujud discussed the arrangements following the launch of the Sports Carnival in conjunction with the Federal Territories’ Day 2025 celebration by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories), Dr Zaliha Mustafa.

Fadlun emphasized that strict monitoring will be in place, focusing on the quality of food on sale. Sellers will only be allowed to start selling after 3 pm to maintain standards. He reminded traders to maintain cleanliness, ensure food quality, and refrain from arbitrarily raising prices.

Furthermore, PPj plans to collaborate with other agencies, including the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, the Ministry of Health, and the Department of Social Welfare, to prevent street begging activity, particularly involving foreigners. Ramadan is anticipated to commence on March 2 this year.
