Four Men, Vietnamese Woman Charged With Drug Trafficking

Kuala lumpur: Four men and a Vietnamese woman were charged at two Ampang Magistrates’ Courts here today on charges of drug trafficking at a condominium last month. They are Lu Jui Tse, 27, Chang Heng Pin, 37, and Hsu Chia Kuei, 28, all Taiwanese; Malaysian Yee Wei Keh, 37; and a Vietnamese woman, Do Thi Thanh Thanh, 20.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, in the court before Magistrate Amalina Basirah Md Top, Lu, Chang, Yee, and Do were charged with jointly trafficking cocaine weighing an estimated 2,767 grams at a condominium in Jalan Nipah here at 4.15 pm on June 25, 2025. The other accused, Hsu, was charged before Magistrate Normaizan Rahim with two counts of drug trafficking, namely about 140 millilitres of methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) and 56 grammes of cocaine at 4.35 pm at the same place and date.

However, no plea was recorded from all the accused as the case is under the jurisdiction of the High Court. They were charged under Section 39B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act (ADB) 1952, read together with Section 34 of the Penal Code, which provides death or life imprisonment, and if not sentenced to death, to be given the maximum 12 strokes of the cane, upon conviction.

Hsu also pleaded not guilty to a charge of possessing 40.68 grams of cannabis at the same place, time, and date under Section 6 of the Dangerous Drugs Act. The prosecution was conducted by Deputy Public Prosecutors Nur Amirah Zahari and S. Kirthana, while lawyers R. Maran and Farra Emira Amir Firdaus represented all the accused.

Magistrates Amalina and Normaizan set Sept 22 and 23, respectively, for mention for submission of the Chemistry report.
