Gerik:Police have confirmed the identities of four individuals involved in a fatal accident on the Gerik-Jeli East-West Highway near Tasik Banding.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Gerik district police chief Supt Abdul Samad Othman identified the deceased victims as Al Zubair Deraman, 31, Tuan Shazrin Tuan Mud, 40, and Mohamad Hafiz Daniel Nik Hairey, 19. The identity of a young girl involved in the crash has not yet been confirmed, while the injured is identified as nine-year-old Mohammad Shiraz Hammani Abdul Fattah.

All victims were residents of Kota Bharu, Kelantan. The accident reportedly occurred when a Perodua Axia lost control and collided with a lorry.

Perak police chief Datuk Mohd Alwi Zainal Abidin stated that the crash involved three vehicles: a Hino lorry, a Proton Persona, and the Perodua Axia. The Perodua Axia, driven by the 19-year-old, was traveling from Gerik towards Jeli, Kelantan, carrying four passengers including a 31-year-old man, a 40-year-old woman, and two children. The incident occurred at approximately 1.30 pm.
