Kuala lumpur: Four incidents of flash floods were recorded so far involving areas in Ampang, Taman U-Thant and Jalan Ampang. The Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department operations centre said it received several distress calls regarding the flash flooding and mobilised teams from the Keramat, Jalan Tun Razak and Titiwangsa fire stations to affected locations for rescue and monitoring actions.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the first incident was reported near Tuscany Home Furnitures along Jalan Mengkudu, Ampang, involving a stranded vehicle in 0.9 metre deep waters. Firefighters managed to rescue the victim in the vehicle. The second incident occurred near Kondominium Desa Angkasa, Taman U-Thant, involving a BMW stranded in floodwaters. Firefighters rescued two victims from the car.

The third incident involved a flooded residential home where residents reported a risk of electrocution in the area. Meanwhile, the fourth incident involved a flooded vehicle along Menara Safuan, Jalan Ampang that turned out to be unoccupied.
