Durham: Fortrea (Nasdaq: FTRE), a prominent global contract research organization, has announced an expansion in its executive team. Oren Cohen, MD, who previously held dual roles as Fortrea's chief medical officer (CMO) and president of Clinical Pharmacology Services (CPS), will now focus solely on his responsibilities as CMO. These include overseeing medical strategy, providing scientific leadership, and managing ethics and governance across Fortrea's portfolio. Meanwhile, Scott Dove, PhD, joins the organization as the new president of CPS, where he will oversee Fortrea's early clinical development solutions through its global network of clinical research units. Both Cohen and Dove are part of Fortrea's Executive Committee.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anshul Thakral, CEO of Fortrea, emphasized the strategic advantage of these leadership changes. Thakral noted that Cohen's dedicated focus on the medical and scientific aspects of development will enhance client relationships and facilitate early scientific dialogue. Cohen will work closely with physicians and therapeutic leaders to address complex development challenges, ensuring scientific integrity and patient safety. Meanwhile, Dove has already begun integrating with the Clinical Pharmacology team and is examining Fortrea's world-class clinics. Thakral expressed confidence in Dove's technical expertise in clinical development and operations, as well as his proven leadership skills in building global organizations.
