Serdang: Former TV3 journalist Jaffry Azman Dahalan, recognized for his strong advocacy on environmental and community issues, passed away at Sultan Idris Shah Hospital here this morning.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Jaffry's son, Azali, confirmed the news, stating that his father, aged 62, succumbed to a heart attack at 6.45 am. "The body is still at the hospital, and all arrangements are being handled by my brother. I seek prayers from everyone that all matters proceed smoothly and my late father is placed among the righteous," Azali shared.
The body of Jaffry Azman is scheduled to be transported to Surau As-Siddiq in Bandar Tun Hussein Onn (BTHO), Cheras, prior to the burial at the BTHO Cemetery. Jaffry Azman was a veteran journalist with TV3, renowned for leading the 'Aduan Rakyat' segment alongside the late Datuk Karam Singh Walia.
Throughout his career, Jaffry was recognized as a media practitioner dedicated to championing public interests, making him a respected figure in local journalism. His remains were interred at the BTHO Muslim cemetery in Cheras at 3.15 pm, following funeral prayers at Surau As-Siddiq BTHO around 1.30 pm.
The burial took place in a sombre atmosphere during a light shower, attended by approximately 50 family members and close friends.
