Floods: KPWKM Ready To Send Additional Staff To Affected States – Nancy.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM) is ready to deploy additional personnel to assist in managing the needs of flood victims in the nine affected states. Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri stated that the deployment would depend on the current needs and requests from the state governments involved.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, KPWKM is closely monitoring the flood situation on a daily basis, as they are concerned that more states may require additional personnel. Nancy shared this information with reporters after attending the Mahligai Cinta Perdana Reception.

As of this morning, the number of flood victims across all nine affected states has reached 120,000. Kelantan is the worst affected, registering the highest number at 80,640. It is followed by Terengganu with 35,124 victims, Kedah with 7,911, Negeri Sembilan with 2,174, Perlis with 520, Selangor with 473, Johor with 425, Malacca with 229, and Perak with 20.

PWKM were sent to the worst-hit state, Kelantan, yesterday. She emphasized that personnel from states not affected by the floods are being mobilized, and more may be deployed to Terengganu and other states depending on the evolving situation.
