Kelantan: Kelantan continues to record the highest number of flood evacuees, with over 11,000 people displaced as of tonight. Perak, Kedah, Terengganu, and Perlis have also seen a significant rise in numbers, while the situation in Pahang remains unchanged.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, in Kelantan, the number of flood victims has risen to 11,120 people from 4,188 families, up from 10,578 from 4,016 families this afternoon. The Department of Social Welfare Infobencana portal reported that 66 temporary relief centres (PPS) have been opened across Kota Bharu, Tumpat, Bachok, Pasir Puteh, Pasir Mas, Tanah Merah, Machang, Kuala Krai, and Gua Musang. The Drainage and Irrigation Department’s public flood portal, Infopublic Banjir, noted that as of 8.30 pm, the water levels at Sungai Golok in Rantau Panjang and Sungai Galas in Limau Kasturi remain above the danger level. The floods in Kelantan also claimed a life today when a 70-year-old woman, Siti Gayah Zakaria, died after the car she was in was swept away by strong currents in Kampung Batu Lima, Jalan Jedok, earlier this morning.

In Perak, the number of evacuees has risen to 5,424 individuals from 1,686 families, compared to 4,739 from 1,469 families this afternoon, all sheltering in 44 PPS. The impacted districts are Manjung, Perak Tengah, Hilir Perak, Bagan Datuk, Kuala Kangsar, Larut Matang and Selama, Muallim, and Batang Padang. The Perak State Disaster Management Committee (JBPN) secretariat reported that Manjung remains the worst-hit district, with 1,983 individuals from 588 families still housed across 16 PPS.

In Kedah, the number of evacuees has increased to 4,142 individuals from 1,414 families, up from 3,101 from 1,058 families this afternoon. The Kedah JPBN reported that the affected individuals, from the Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, and Pokok Sena districts, are now accommodated in 21 PPS. Kubang Pasu remains the worst-affected district in Kedah, with 2,435 individuals from 897 families currently housed across 15 PPS, while in Kota Setar, 1,562 people from 470 families are sheltering in five PPS. In Pokok Sena, 145 individuals from 47 families have been relocated to a single PPS that was opened this morning.

In Terengganu, continuous rainfall throughout the day has driven the number of evacuees up to 3,233 individuals from 1,050 families as of 8.00 pm, a significant increase from 2,525 individuals from 800 families recorded at 3.00 pm. A total of 39 PPS have been activated across Marang, Kuala Terengganu, Setiu, Besut, Hulu Terengganu, and Dungun.

In Perlis, the number of evacuees has risen to 6,627 people as of tonight, up from 6,370 this afternoon. The Perlis JBPN secretariat reported that all affected individuals are being housed in 21 PPS located in Padang Besar, Arau, and Kangar areas as of 8.00 pm.

In Pahang, the number of flood evacuees remains unchanged at 19 individuals from eight families, all accommodated at the Dato Omar Kuala Medang Community Hall PPS in Lipis.
