Floods In Kelantan, Kedah Fully Recede; Improvement Seen In Five Other States

Kuala lumpur: Floods that affected Kelantan and Kedah have fully receded, with all temporary relief centres closing this afternoon, while conditions in five other affected states are showing signs of improvement.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, in Kelantan, the first wave of floods has completely subsided, leading to the closure of the remaining relief centres in Pasir Mas, which had been sheltering 67 evacuees from 21 families. Kelantan Civil Defence Force acting director Lt Col Mohd Farid Ishak confirmed that all evacuees have returned home and urged residents to remain vigilant for potential future floods.

In Kedah, flood conditions have also fully recovered, resulting in the closure of two relief centres in the Kubang Pasu district. All evacuees have returned to their homes.

In Selangor, the number of evacuees at relief centres has declined to 1,464 people from 413 families, with a decrease in operational relief centres from 27 to 21 across four districts.

In Terengganu, flood conditions are nearly resolved, with only 31 people from 20 families still in relief centres. The Terengganu JPBN Secretariat reported that some schools remain closed due to the floods.

In Perak, the number of flood evacuees has decreased to 3,402 people from 1,008 families, with Hilir Perak being the worst-affected district.

In Pahang, evacuee numbers have dropped to 149 people from 39 families. The Public Infobanjir portal noted that Sungai Pahang has exceeded the danger level in certain areas.

In Perlis, the flood situation is improving with a significant drop in evacuees, and fewer relief centres remain operational.
