Flood Victims In Sabah Continue To Rise This Morning

Kota kinabalu: The number of flood victims in Sabah has increased to 5,141 people from 2,160 families as of 8 am this morning, compared to 4,761 people from 1,828 families yesterday. According to BERNAMA News Agency, the State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) secretariat announced in a statement that all victims from four districts, namely Pitas, Kota Marudu, Paitan, and Tawau, have been placed in 27 temporary evacuation centres (PPS). The district of Tawau was declared flood-hit at 11:30 pm last night following continuous rain, making it the latest area to be affected by the floods. Pitas recorded the highest number of victims, with 2,120 people, followed by Kota Marudu with 1,929 people, Paitan with 847 people, and Tawau with 245 people. The floods in these four districts have affected 80 villages, but there have been no reports of deaths so far.
