Jelebu: Heavy rain since midnight caused flash floods in three villages in Jelebu. District Civil Defence Force officer Lt (PA) Mohd Najib Abdul Karim reported that the flash floods impacted 65 people from 13 families in Kampung Juntai, Kampung Lakai, and Kampung Jerang. Fortunately, no evacuations have been carried out.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Lt Mohd Najib Abdul Karim explained that several areas experienced flooding up to thigh level. While water levels in some regions have receded, others remain submerged. Authorities have relocated all affected individuals to safer locations to ensure their well-being.
Lt Mohd Najib noted that although the weather is not currently rainy, it remains gloomy. He emphasized that the geographical positioning of these villages in low-lying areas near rivers contributed to the rapid rise in water levels, leading to the flash floods.
