Shah Alam:Both carriageways of the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) between Setia Alam and Shah Alam, from Kilometre (KM) 9.1 to KM 9.4, have been temporarily closed to all vehicles following flash floods caused by heavy rain at 6.20 pm today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, PLUS Malaysia Bhd stated that, as an immediate safety measure, southbound vehicles from Subang are being diverted off the NKVE via the North-South Expressway Central Link (ELITE). Meanwhile, northbound vehicles from Bukit Raja are being diverted at the Setia Alam Interchange.
Highway users are encouraged to consult PLUS' official communication channels, including their X account @PLUSTrafik, the PLUS app, Variable Message Signs (VMS), PLUS' virtual assistant PUTRI, and official social media platforms for real-time updates on weather, flood conditions, and alternative routes.
Motorists are further advised against driving through floodwaters, as even seemingly shallow water can stall vehicle engines or lead to vehicles being swept away by strong currents. PLUS urges compliance with all temporary signage and instructions provided by their personnel at the scene.
