Kuala terengganu: The Youth and Sports Ministry (KBS) has left investigations into the flare-burning incident involving a group of Selangor FC supporters in Terengganu last Sunday entirely to the authorities. Minister Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari stated that firm action would be taken against those found guilty in accordance with the law, adding he is awaiting the outcome of the investigation.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari emphasized that no one would be spared if an offence is proven, as the matter is under investigation. He assured that the investigation is fully in the hands of the authorities to ensure proper conduct.
The incident, which took place at around 6.30 pm at the Kuala Terengganu Drawbridge, occurred prior to the 2025/26 Super League match between Terengganu FC and Selangor FC at Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium in Kuala Nerus. Following the incident, 33 Selangor FC supporters were remanded to assist investigations into the disturbance.
Kuala Terengganu police chief ACP Azli Mohd Noor reported that they were among approximately 400 supporters who were detained and brought to the district police headquarters for urine screening.
