Five Men Held, Drugs Seized In Two Bachok Raids

Kuala lumpur: Police arrested five men and seized various types of drugs worth over RM8,000 in two separate raids in Bachok yesterday.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Bachok police chief Supt Mohamad Ismail Jamaluddin reported that the first raid took place in Kampung Alor Pulai, Jelawat, where four men were apprehended after being found in a Proton Saga FLX parked in the compound of a house. The suspects attempted to flee but were caught after a brief struggle. Police discovered 27.89 grammes of drugs valued at RM2,231 inside sling bags within the vehicle.

Mohamad Ismail further revealed that all four suspects tested positive for drugs and had previous records related to crime and drug offenses. In a separate operation, police conducted a second raid at a house in Kampung Rekang, Repek, where they arrested a 28-year-old man. During this raid, authorities confiscated 596 suspected yaba pills with an estimated value of RM5,960.

The 28-year-old suspect also tested positive for amphetamine and had a history of drug-related offenses. Mohamad Ismail stated that all five suspects are currently under investigation under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. He urged the public to provide any information that could assist the police in combating drug-related crimes in the area.
